Group meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month from 7 – 9pm at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter in Longbenton, NE12 8EH. You can view directions from your postcode using the map on the contact page. Our meetings normally include a guest speaker.
We have been fortunate to book David Evans, also known as The Apiarist, who is a very knowledgeable and entertaining speaker. He is Emeritus Professor of Virology in the School of Biology, University of St. Andrews. He writes the weekly posts on The Apiarist and offers talks on a range of beekeeping topics. He is a retired scientist, so there’s usually a bit of lightweight science mixed in with the practical beekeeping because he thinks that’s the best way to know why you’re doing what you’re doing. Welcome - The Apiarist
This will be on ZOOM as David lives in a remote part of west Scotland.
In summer we get many questions from the public about bees and other insects.
